My Green Smoothie Recipe An Adaptation of Dr Oz's Green Smoothie.
5:38:00 PM
I saw on Dr Oz's site that he had a smoothie that he and plenty of others swore by. It's a pretty refreshing smoothie. I enjoy it I just need an idea of how to make it smoother. The recipe was a little chunky. It wasn't smooth like the ones you get at the smoothie shop. It was good and refreshing its just different from the smoothies I'm used too. Anyway here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
2 cups spinach
1/2 cucumber
3 celery stalks
1/2 bunch parsley
1 bunch mint (bout a handful)
3 carrots
2 apples
1/4 orange
1/4 lime
1/4 lemon
1/4 pineapple
1 whole banana
cup of ice
*Substitutions - Kale instead of spinach. Its stronger in flavor and smell so be warned. You can modify this recipe to your liking. Make it more fruit friendly. You can change the fruits to the ones you like. But I would keep the banana. It makes it filling and thats what you would want for a morning smoothie. Something that is filling but not heavy. Add natural organic fruit juice to make it smoother. Or you can try almond milk and or soy milk.
Directions
Cut up the ingredients as small as possible to ensure it becomes well blended. Add the ingredients to your high power blender skin and all (unless prefer to not have the skin it's up to you). Blend until smooth and thoroughly incorporated.
Chill in the fridge for at least and hour then serve. Creates a full blender so you will have enough for a couple days. Be warned this smoothie is packed with vitamins and minerals. You may be using the restroom for awhile until your body removes all the toxins and gets used the power punch you're serving it. Drink one 8 oz cup every morning.
