Easy Recipe: Lemon Orange Pound Cake

This is my basic pound cake recipe amped up a few notches. Pound Cake is a blank canvas it's so easy to change. You can add flavorings, fruit, etc. You can make pound cake however you want its all at your discretion.
Here's my Lemon Orange Pound Cake Recipe:
Ingredients
2 c Flour
2 c Sugar
6 Eggs
2 Sticks of Butter
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Flavor
1/4 c Pet Milk
1/3 c Lemon Juice
1/3 c Orange Juice
1 tsp Lemon Zest
1 tsp Orange Zest
Directions
Sift the 2 cups of flour 6 or 7 times. Sifting allows the flour to be light and create a lighter fluffier cake. Place the sifted flour in a separate bowl to the side. Cream the sugar and butter together until the mixture is pale yellow. Add the lemon juice and orange juice slowly blend into the eggs, sugar and butter. Then, slowly add one egg at a time until all the eggs are added to the sugar and butter mixture. Mix the zest into the flour so that it does not stick to the mixer blades. Finally turn on the mixer and add the flour slowly until fully incorporated.
Butter and flour the bundt pan. Shake off all excess flour and add pour the pound cake mixture into the bundt pan. Slightly shake to ensure all the cake mixture has settled and is air free. Then place in a preheated 300 degree oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes. Frequently check on the cake. Once it browns on the top take a wooden skewer or toothpick place in the center of the cake all the way to the bottom of the pan then pull out. If the toothpick or skewer comes out clean then the cake is done and can be removed from the oven. Let the cake rest for 15 minutes then remove from the bundt pan and place on a wire rack to ensure it has completely cooled.
*Option: If you want your cake to be a little bit sweeter you can make a really good icing to drizzle over the top. Here's what you'll need:
Ingredients
1/8 c Lemon Juice
1/8 c Orange Juice
2 c Confectioners Sugar
1/3 c Milk
Directions
With a hand mixer blend the lemon and orange juice with the confectioners sugar. Add in the milk and fully incorporate to create the icing. Use a wooden spoon, mix the mixture and if the icing coats the spoon its ready to drizzle. Drizzle the icing all over the pound cake and let the cake rest for 5 minutes. Give the icing time to harden on the cake and then SERVE!
